What is the Radical Campaign?
Radical is a 9-week church-wide focused campaign using the book “Radical” by Pastor David Platt as a spring board to learn what it really means to be a disciple (a committed, growing, follower) of Jesus Christ. All of our sermons will be focused on what it means to follow Jesus as He intended. Our hope is that in hearing the messages, worshiping together, reading the book and discussing it in our connection groups we will all be refocused, energized and inspired to be completely committed followers of Jesus Christ.
Should I read the chapter from the book before I come to worship each Sunday?
Yes, it would be best if you did. It will help you get the biggest impact from the study. Imagine how great it will be that you’re not just coming to worship expecting to be lectured but instead you have taken steps to prepare for worship in advance. Don’t worry, the Radical book will not take the place of your Bible. All of our messages will come from God’s Word’s, as usual, but will just cover the same topic as the book chapters.
Why is it important that my connection group be studying the same thing?
It’s about synergy and focus. Getting everyone focused on the same biblical truths is so valuable. You might be thinking that studying the same chapter of a book in every area of the church may get redundant. We promise you, though, it won’t. There is so much packed in every chapter that we hope when you come to weekend services you will get one perspective, your connection group will provide another perspective and so on.
What if I cannot afford the $10 donation for a book?
The last thing we want to do is make cost a factor in stalling your spiritual growth. We have provisions to take care of the $10 so just let us know and we can get you a book.
What is the Radical Experiment?
We will go into greater details as the series moves along but the basic idea is that at the end of the series we are going to ask you to seriously commit your life, for the next year, to some things. These commitments are not necessarily related to the church but commitments to God to do some things and live radically for Jesus.
Are there additional Radical resources available?
Yes, through our website we will be listing many of those as we go forward.
